Here are a few sample itineraries of what we consider to be some of the better local rides.
Jas de Garrigue to the Ventoux and back via Bedoin
It’s exactly 61,5km to the summit of the Mont Ventoux from our place making for a RT ride of 125km and 2950m positive gain.
Jas de Garrigue to the Ventoux and back via Sault
This is a slightly longer way to the Mont Ventoux from our place but also slightly “easier” with 2490m positive gain.
Le Plateau de Sault, Mont Ventoux
A scenic 33km version or the full on version including the Ventoux summit 67km circuit around the lavender fields of Mont Ventoux.
Between le Mont Ventoux and les Dentelles
A challenging short circuit of 25km starting from Malaucene, that takes you through the vineyards and typical pine forests of Provence. Stunning scenery and great views of the landscape between Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles mountain range.
The Classic 4 Village Tour
This ride makes for a fantastic way to discover one of the reasons why cycling Provence is so, so good. Plenty of hills but the mid-ride meal and chilled rosé wine will make it seem fine.
La Veloroute du Calavon
Easy family cycle along purpose built cycle path in the Luberon the RT is 45km and a very enjoyable day out.
The Full Metal Jacket
This is a demanding ride on both sides of the Calavon river bed. It starts off gently but packs a mean punch once we leave the bike path. Most of the roads are pretty traffic free and the scenery is just stunning.
One of my favourite rides to do around part of the Luberon National Park. Usually pretty hot but the lunch stop in Lourmarin makes it worth while.
Gordes - Abbye - Murs Loop
A stunning day out on one of the prettiest loops here. A must do.
